2020 Nehemiah Action Update

Topeka JUMP had its virtual 2020 Nehemiah Action on April 27th. Over 1,000 people tuned in to view our public officials make commitments around transportation and violence.

  • JEDO Members Kevin Cook and Mike Padilla agreed to make a motion to include at least $100,000 per year for at least 5 years in the Go Topeka budget for SOTO and NETO Ride to Work programs.

  • County Commissioner Aaron Mays agreed to ask for $100,000 to be put in the 2021 county budget for Group Violence Intervention. GVI is a gun violence reduction strategy that has worked in dozens of other cities.
